Local LGBTQ+ Resources and Organizations

ACLU Delaware
The American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) Delaware provides legal and advocacy services for a full range of “civil liberties” issues, including LGBTQ+ issues.

AIDS Delaware
AIDS Delaware’s mission is to support those living with HIV/AIDS in Delaware and to prevent the spread and stigma of HIV. AIDS Delaware offers free rapid HIV testing, HIV/AIDS Education, as well as a wide variety of mental health and direct services to people living with HIV like transportation, food pantries, and assistance with medical services. Though not an explicitly queer organization, AIDS Delaware has long been a partner of the queer community. AIDS Delaware has many fundraising events, most notably their annual AIDS Walk.

CAMP Rehoboth
CAMP (Creating A More Positive Rehoboth) is a community service organization whose mission is to build a safer, more inclusive community for LGBTQ folks living in Sussex County and surrounding coastal areas. They also work to promote cooperation and understanding among queer and straight people alike, through collaborative service projects, health programs, community outreach, education, and advocacy.

Delaware Pride
Delaware Pride, founded in 1997, is a non-profit dedicated to promoting platforms for expressive diversity and creating a more visible and united LGBTQ+ community. Delaware Pride hosts the annual Delaware Pride Festival each year in June. They also host monthly virtual community meetings as well as a variety of in-person community events.

The Emerald Lighthouse
The Emerald Lighthouse’s mission is to create a safe space intended to reduce isolation in the LGBTQ+ community, while simultaneously educating the community and those around them. Partners Christina and Stephanie Emmanual-De Luna created this group to bring love, support, and guidance to youth and young adults, along with providing diversity and LGBTQ+ sensitivity training to individuals and companies that work for them.

Equality Delaware
Equality Delaware is a statewide organization working to ensure and promote dignity, safety and equality for all LGBT Delawareans. 

I Am Me Inc
I Am Me Inc. is a non-profit organization based in Delaware formed to offer safe social spaces with programs that uplift and unify the LGBTQ community. The Board of I Am Me Inc believes together, we can heal, support, and collectively eliminate discrimination one person at a time by educating them about our community. I Am Me offers an annual Holiday Party, annual Me Fest, and a variety of virtual educational programs. 

Orgullo Delaware
Orgullo Delaware is an organization for LGBTQ Latinx people and their families in Delaware. Orgullo provides Bilingual Gender and Sexuality-Focused Therapy, Empowerment Groups for Parents, Teens, and Adults, Foundational Intersectionality Trainings, movie and book discussions.

Our Night Out Wilmington
Our Night Out is a monthly social gathering of LGBTQ folks and allies at local restaurants. Joe Sielski started this group as a way to say that the businesses of Wilmington are open to everyone and promote visibility and acceptance of the queer community in Delaware. All are welcome at these events.

PFLAG Middletown
PFLAG Rehoboth Beach
PFLAG Wilmington
PFLAG (Parents and Friends of Lesbians and Gays) offers support, advocacy, and education about LGBTQ issues. Their website provides resources such as local LGBTQ-friendly Churches, therapists, doctors, and more. 

United Way of Delaware PRIDE Council
The PRIDE Council’s focus is to organize community resources including corporate, education, health, government and religious organizations to improve the lives of LGBTQ+ youth and adults in Delaware.
