PLUS & Our Role in the Process

The Preliminary Land Use Service gives the State a chance to tell developers about its concerns over environmental, infrastructure, historical, and governmental costs posed by their proposed developments. It also gives the developers an early warning about any permits and standards they will be required to meet. The Division of Historical and Cultural Affairs is one of several state agencies that participate in this Service. The Division provides information on the development’s impacts to historic properties and archaeological sites and is an advocate for their protection.
