We are looking for a self-motivated, outgoing volunteer who works well within a team and is able to complete assigned tasks in a timely and efficient manner. Knowledge and passion for history is a plus! Must be reliable, flexible, willing to learn, and attentive to detail. Ability to use a computer, learn proper techniques when handling artifacts, and write or adhere small numbers on artifacts may be necessary. Knowledge of computer software such as Microsoft Word, Access, and Excel is helpful! Experience, education, and/or an interest in archaeology can be helpful, although not required.
Archaeological facilities in Dover, DE and/or Archeological Laboratory in Lewes, DE; archaeological field locations as assigned
We will work as best as we can to accommodate the volunteer’s schedule, however our schedule is limited to the time in which projects need to be completed, and our operating hours, as well as weather dependent.
Any volunteer sixteen (16) years of age or under must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian for the duration of the volunteer project. All potential volunteers are required to complete a volunteer application.
Volunteers will report to the on site supervisor and to the Volunteer Services Coordinator.

This volunteer opportunity may require periods of time standing, outdoor hands-on experience, and/or the use of a computer system. Some field work may require the use of a variety of tools, however training on proper handling techniques will be provided.
