John Dickinson Plantation

Visit to experience a variety of pastimes from over two hundred years ago. Outdoor games 10:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in the East Yard and indoor games 10:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. in the Dining Room of the Mansion.

Demonstrations by the Thistledown Fiber Arts Guild. Program occurs during tours to explore fiber arts pursuits and may include spinning, weaving, knitting, and other historic handcrafts. Group meeting 1-3 p.m. in the Mansion Dining Room.

Learn how to spin wool on a drop spindle and dye it different colors. Enjoy the challenge of playing historic games and tour a historic house museum.

A workshop on the bayberry, how the wax was produced and the opportunity to dip your own bayberry candle. This program is held in conjunction with Delaware National Estuarine Research Reserve (DNERR).  Reservations are required and will be taken beginning November 6, 2024.
