Candle-making, merry-making and reliving history filled this fall and winter. If you missed our events, mark your calendar for next year!

After many challenging months, volunteers are finding ways to safely help preserve and share Delaware history.

About two years ago, researchers began a focused search for all who lived at the John Dickinson Plantation. In some cases, those forgotten figures chose to live on the property. Others had no choice. Now, researchers have a list of historical names.

This January, communities across the country will celebrate an annual day of service in honor of Martin Luther King Jr. HCA historic sites and museums will be collecting donated items for local charities in commemoration.

Work is underway to restore the Weldin House in Wilmington. Find out what HCA has planned.

A $5,000 grant will support HCA’s work with the descendant community at the John Dickinson Plantation.

“Recapturing Black Beaches: A Shared Story Project” is an oral history initiative designed to memorialize and uplift stories of what it has been like to recreate at Delaware’s beaches as a person of color throughout history.

The Diversity in Delaware History webinar series returns in 2022 as a way for people to better understand the diverse stories found throughout the First State’s history. This monthly event is free and open to the public.

Events include a virtual program on the blizzard of 1888 and a live concert by Musically Generated Organism.
