‘History Revival’ in New Castle highlights historic sporting

This summer, the New Castle Court House Museum is once again bringing the “History Revival” speaker series to the historic town. On select Tuesdays and Thursdays in August, visit Old New Castle to explore the history of sporting in the First State.
The museum will host the following events starting at 7 p.m. Reservations are not required, but seating is limited.
On Thursday, Aug. 7, New Castle Court House Museum interpreter Matt Morris will discuss motorcar racing history in Delaware.
On Tuesday, Aug. 12, Laura Fontana will discuss the history of the New Castle Sailing Club.
On Thursday, Aug. 14, a sports journalist from Delaware Online/The News Journal will discuss sports journalism.
On Thursday, Aug. 21, a representative from the Jewish Historical Society of Delaware will discuss Jewish athlete Hymie Swartz and the history of Jewish recreation in Delaware.
On Thursday, Aug. 28, the University of Delaware Figure Skating Club will discuss the history of the club and figure skating at the University of Delaware.
