Join the Division as a dedicated volunteer in 2023!

In advance of National Volunteer Month in April, the Division of Historical and Cultural Affairs encourages you to consider donating your time and skills to historical sites, museums or events this spring and summer.

In April, the Division will be in need of help with Buena Vista’s Spring Festival. In May, the Zwaanendael Museum will be in need of assistance at the Maritime Celebration (which includes displays, activities and demonstrations on local maritime history with other Lewes groups). Other events in May that may be in need of volunteers include Dover Days at the Old State House in Dover as well as A Day in Old New Castle at the New Castle Court House Museum.

The Division is always looking for individuals or groups to volunteer in various positions throughout the state’s diverse museums and historic sites. A background in or appreciation for history is welcome but not required. Just bring your passion and enthusiasm with you as you volunteer to promote Delaware’s historical and cultural legacies. Volunteers participate in hands-on work, share knowledge and learn new skills. Earn credit for internships or service hours! Volunteers under 18 years old must be accompanied by an adult.
