Help bring history and cultural legacies to life

Are you interested in a rewarding volunteer opportunity that has a lasting impact? Do you want to help bring Delaware’s historical and cultural legacies to life? If so, then the Division of Historical and Cultural Affairs is looking for you!

Lend a hand in bringing Delaware’s rich cultural legacies and history to the public. The Division is looking for individuals or groups to volunteer in various positions throughout the state’s diverse museums and historic sites. A background in or appreciation for history is welcome but not required. Just bring your passion and enthusiasm with you as you volunteer to promote Delaware’s historical and cultural legacies. Volunteers participate in hands-on work, share knowledge and learn new skills. Earn credit for internships or service hours! Volunteers under 18 years old must be accompanied by an adult.

Be a part of the 18th Century Market Fair on The Green in Dover where living history comes to life. The event will be held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 5, and from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 6. Volunteers are needed to help with the information table, at the Old State House, with a refreshment station and clean-up.

To volunteer for the Market Fair or for volunteer-related questions, Division Volunteer Services Coordinator Jennifer Bowman at Jennifer.Bowman@delaware.gov or by calling 302-738-7400.
