Delaware Forest Service publishes guide to big trees of Delaware

The Deware Forest Service has recently published the fifth edition of its popular “Big Trees of Delaware,” a comprehensive list of the largest trees covering nearly 80 native and non-native species in the First State.

Two properties administered by the Division of Historical and Cultural AffairsBuena Vista and Belmont Hall—contain three of the state’s champion trees. Buena Vista, located at 661 S. Dupont Highway (Route 13) near New Castle, is home to Delaware’s largest Nordmann fir and tamarack; while Belmont Hall, located at 713 Smyrna Leipsic Road in Smyrna, is home to the state’s largest Douglas fir.
