About the Building

The Museum of Small Town Life is housed in the former Sunday school building of the Old Presbyterian Church of Dover. Built in 1880, the building features an intricately carved ceiling, wide-plank wooden floors, and a stained glass window created by William Reith. This beautiful window is one of the few works actually signed by the famous 19th century stained glass artisan.

Located in the same complex is the Delaware Archaeology Museum which was originally built in 1790 as a Presbyterian church.
