Jenifer Anderson-Reno joins division as Historic Property Research Center manager
On Aug. 5, 2019, the Delaware Division of Historical and Cultural Affairs’ State Historic Preservation Office welcomed Jenifer Anderson-Reno as the new manager of its Historic Property Research Center which is located in the division’s main office at 21 The Green in Dover, Del.
Anderson-Reno is responsible for maintaining the Research Center’s information about Delaware historic properties and archaeological sites including location information, reports, cultural resource forms and studies; as well as managing the operation of the Cultural History Resource Information System (CHRIS), a web-based Geographic Information System that enables users to access a variety of information about historic properties in Delaware.
Originally from Wisconsin, Anderson-Reno holds a bachelor’s degree in anthropology/archaeology from the University of North Carolina, Greensboro; and a master’s degree in historic preservation from the University of Delaware. Prior to joining the division, she was employed by a number of auction houses including William Bunch Auctions and Appraisers where she worked as a cataloger, and Everything But the House where she served as an estate specialist and cataloger. Additionally, she has worked as an archaeologist for the engineering firms HDR and A.D. Marble, and as a historic-site guide at Historic Sugartown in Malvern, Pa. The Wilmington, Del. resident is currently working on obtaining certification as an accredited appraiser.
