Other Historic Sites Owned by the State of Delaware
The following list of historic properties are owned by the State of Delaware, Division of Historical Affairs, and are operated by private organizations.

Abbott’s Mill Nature Center
This historic working gristmill occupies a piece of the Millford Millponds Nature Preserve which features meadows, gardens and rails for visitors to explore.

Belmont Hall
Built in 1773, this Georgian mansion hosts fascinating events and tours around the beloved grounds and house throughout the year.

The Delaware Breakwater East End Lighthouse
Surrounded by water and a fascinating, rich history, the lighthouse is located at the eastern end of the inner breakwater in Lewes, DE.

Visit: Access to the site is prohibited except for accompanied visits conducted by Cape Water Tours. This light can be viewed from Cape Henlopen State Park.

The Fenwick Island Lighthouse
This 87-foot tall lighthouse fended off shipwrecks for 119 years and is the oldest lighthouse in the state of Delaware.

Monument at Fort Christina
The Swedish Tercentenary Monument is located outdoors at the Fort Christina National Historic Landmark by the river. Read the history of Fort Christina.

Hale-Byrnes House
This historic house was built during the eighteenth century and is a part of the Washington-Rochambeau National Historic Trail.

Milford Museum
This historic house was built during the eighteenth century and is a part of the Washington-Rochambeau National Historic Trail.

Old Sussex County Court House

Pencader Heritage Museum
This museum is located in the Cooch Dayett Mills complex and contains a plethora of objects used throughout Delaware history.

Prince George’s Chapel
The Chapel was built in 1755 and was restored in 1967, opening up as a museum.
