HCA newsletter to pause for the remainder of 2025

In 1924, Alice Dunbar-Nelson wrote, “Delaware is a state of anomalies, of political and social contradictions.” Understanding the people and stories of the First State, whether in 1924, 2024, 1724, or long before the European colonization of the continent, requires care and reflection, investigation and research, supported by the work of historians, archaeologists and Delaware enthusiasts willing and able to collect and share those stories.

This is why the Division of Historical and Cultural Affairs (HCA) dedicates resources to a monthly “Saving Delaware History” newsletter to share some of those most important stories and advances in understanding Delaware history. But sometimes change is necessary.

The newsletter will be taking a break for several months as staff reflect on how to best serve the people it reaches. The goal is to resume the newsletter in the new year.

If you have questions or suggestions on how HCA can better serve readers, please reach out to Desiree May at Desiree.May@delaware.gov.
