Head over to the New Castle Court House Museum at 211 Delaware St. in historic New Castle on June 9-10 for the 247th anniversary of Delaware’s separation from Great Britain and Pennsylvania. While you are there, visit the museum’s newest exhibit “Your Vote, Your Voice.”

Enjoy the block party-style kick-off in front of the museum from 6-9 p.m. on Friday, June 9, and return on Saturday for the parade at noon, followed by the festival and vintage market in Battery Park from 1- 9:30 p.m.

There is something for everyone at the festival, from music and exhibitors to food, games and a beer garden. Crafters, artists, bakers and chefs will celebrate the day with offerings (for a price) of their handmade, vintage goods.

The day will go out with a bang at 9:30 p.m. with a spectacular fireworks display over the Delaware River. For more information including details on parking and shuttles, visit the event’s website at  separationdayde.com.
