Public input sought for preservation plan

The State Historic Preservation Office will soon be updating Delaware’s Statewide Historic Preservation Plan, and is seeking input from all stakeholders, including members of the general public.

The survey only takes a few minutes, and aims to collect thoughts on the current state of historic preservation in Delaware, including ideas for preservation efforts over the next five years. Responses are requested by Aug. 26, 2025.

Complete the survey at  https://forms.office.com/g/9uCdq8Aqdx.

The Statewide Historic Preservation Plan offers guidance for residents, organizations and agencies to work toward preserving Delaware’s heritage for the future. Broad goals, accompanied by specific strategies and actions, aim to provide a working blueprint for the next several years so that people can be informed, share resources and coordinate preservation work with other planning efforts.

The Statewide Historic Preservation Plan is not a document for state government use alone. Rather, the plan provides all Delawareans who are passionate about historic preservation with a framework for effective decision-making, developing and implementing preservation policy and for communicating preservation goals and values across the state.
