New Castle Court House Museum publishes ’19 Days of Suffrage’

During the month of August 2020, New Castle Court House Museum Lead Historic Site Interpreter Nicole Worthley completed “19 Days of Suffrage,” a series of 19 Facebook posts about the women’s suffrage movement in Delaware and the nation. The series is named in celebration of the 100th anniversary of the ratification of the 19th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution which granted women the right to vote. “19 Days of Suffrage” was created as a companion to Delaware’s 2020 Chautauqua—“Women’s Work: Campaigning for Social Change”—that will be presented virtually on Sept. 10 and 11 from the Zwaanendael Museum in Lewes, and Sept. 19 and 20 from the New Castle Court House Museum.
