SUMMARY:Walk to DeBraak
DESCRIPTION:Join this special tour that explores the history\, artifacts and surviving hull section of the HMS DeBraak\, an 18th century shipwreck.  \nThe tour will start at Cape Henlopen State Park (CHSP). Participants will meet Zwaanendael staff outside the CHSP Park Office and take a short walk (0.3miles) to the DeBraak facility. There\, attendees will see the hull of the ship and learn about the history\, crew and sinking of the DeBraak through a guided presentation and display of artifacts. \nEach tour will last approximately 45 minutes to 1 hour. Individuals ages 10 and up are welcome. Space is limited to 18 participants. Footwear is required for participants.  \nPrior registration is strongly encouraged to ensure a spot.  Walkups are welcome only if space is available. To register\, email zmuseum@delaware.gov or call (302) 645-1148. \nTours for groups of more than 10 people may be arranged in advance by contacting the museum.  \nThis is a free program.

SUMMARY:Separation Day Parade
DESCRIPTION:Separation Day is the annual celebration of Delaware’s independence from Pennsylvania and the British Crown. 2026 marks the 250th anniversary of arguably one of the longest running traditions in the state. The community event is held annually in Historic New Castle. Saturday kicks off with a Colonial-inspired parade. The middle of the day is filled with children’s rides\, an Artisan & Vintage market\, live music\, beer garden and foods prepared by community groups. Numerous historical institution will be on the historic Green in New Castle with activities from 11-4. The day culminates with fireworks over the Delaware River.

DESCRIPTION:The Delaware State Review Board for Historic Preservation serves as the advisory body to the state historic preservation officer\, the official appointed by the governor to oversee and implement the state’s preservation policies in accordance with federal standards. As part of its responsibilities\, the State Review Board evaluates historic properties for placement in the National Register of Historic Places\, and provides professional advice on historic preservation matters \nThe next State Review Board is scheduled at the Delaware Center for Material Culture (1351 West North Street Suite 102\, Dover\, DE)\, with the option to attend virtually via Zoom (meeting link: https://us02web.zoom.us/j/83143548426). \nAs part of the meeting\, State Review Board members will consider the nomination for Mount Joy United Methodist Church\, located at 455 Townsend Street in Wilmington for submission to the National Park Service for listing in the National Register of Historic Places.
