New pavilion unveiled at Belmont Hall

The long-awaited open-air pavilion at Belmont Hall in Smyrna is nearly ready to receive its guests.

In mid-June, the Friends of Belmont Hall celebrated a ribbon-cutting ceremony at the new structure, which measures 42-by-72-feet. The pavilion, which is equipped with electricity and running water, will be able to accommodate up to 100 people for special events and gatherings. The project also includes a lighted, concrete walkway from the parking lot to the pavilion and another lighted walkway from the house to the pavilion, as well as wrap-around fiberglass columns and 15 ceiling fans to ensure air flow on the hottest days.

People gather at a grand opening for a new open-air pavilion at the Historic Belmont Hall in Smyrna.

Historic Belmont Hall was built in 1773 and today is owned by the Division of Historical and Cultural Affairs (HCA). This project also included extensive archaeological investigation and monitoring, as well as efforts to make the site fully accessible for all.
